I'm sure some AP geese get popped during the late resident season, but not many. They really zone in on the coastal areas and it's a pretty good bet that any goose killed west of I-95 is a resident. The residents here aren't any slouches either. Goose whackin' is a big deal here because it's the most accessible type of waterfowling available. All you need is to get on one of the rivers or get permission on somebody's corn patch or hay field. Unfortunately, as sprawl from D.C. continues it's march, gonna be less and less corn and hay fields to ask permission to hunt. Hell, my best deer stand is in a YARD just outside of the Beltway.
