Shelter had no HO policies south of Hattiesburg. For some reason they did not know about the wind pool. Cost them 43mil. Shelter will not write a HO policy in MS. State Farm lost in court on 600 cases 80 mil. They have 500 more that have not filed and a Fed judge ruled to put these on hold, (where State Farm can not just pay) this will cost around 100 mil. Oh, BTW Dickie Scruggs gets 46 Mil for his services.

Amen jelly,
Why are people not looking to his deep pockets? Did he offer to cut his normal percentage fee to help out the poor people who lost everything.
i think not. He should have done it pro bono as he is already a tycoon from suing the insurance industry over after market parts.
he does not need the money near as badly as the people who lost everything, so why shouldn't he be held to have to help out by not charging since he realy feels they are getting screwed.
plantiffs attnys say you dont have to agree with your clients position, you just have to make everyone think you do and be able to argue the point to get to the emotions of a judge or jury. It boils down to the fact that they are sales people.

The sad thing is, you know who losses in all this? You, if you have a HO policy. The winners? Dickie Scruggs. You may not think you will pay but I'd bet that over the next 10 years HO insurance will go up sharply. Everyone in the state will pay more because of katrina. You can say "I'll change companies" but they will go up too. Sucks for everyone. You can then thank Dickie (who will probably own his own island by then) and Jimmy "sue" Hood.
Why is my mouth so dry this morning, when I drank so much last night?
