Don't think we can get the two weeks in February per discussion on the General Board from Chad...
Will never happen for 2 reasons...1) biology - pair bonds late in winter. 2) Migratory Bird Treaty Act - says no hunting past January. The latter will take an act of Congress...

I don't know if it's available still, but look at all of the fighting and pushing it took to get the season to close where it does now. See if you can do a search of the archives on her going back seven or eight years ago. You would come on here and all you would see was a debate over when the season should close, why, how pairing should have no effect etc.... There is no way the feds will ever give us extra time in Febrary, it aint gonna happen. However it would be wonderful if it ever did.

It seems that the only people bitching are people who spent high dollars on leases that didnt produce. I hunted all public land in Mississipi this year and we ended up with around 300 or some odd birds. THis has been one of the best years of my life, Its amazing what a little scouting can do. You know you aint gonna kill ducks if you go sit in your pit all day and hope that they fly by. Duck hunting does require a little work you know.

I honestly think that the complaining every year is a symptom of withdrawl......
As far as Trent Lott goes...he is my hero...we got the extra days in MS to go out and enjoy the hunt even if sometimes we saw a vacant sky
I'll sign Wingman's petition. If we all sign up, the variables that none of us can control will align and all will get to shoot limits of greenheads every day for 60 straight...no doubt
