Mojo or no mojo?

Postby Tedl10 » Sat Dec 16, 2006 4:34 pm

Hey guys. I was just wondering the scoop on the Mojo Mallard. Does it work or does it flare em? I've heard both lately and debating on getting one and not getting one. Post up your insight on the topic. Thanks! Ted

Mojos flare mallards...unless, youve got 8 of em... in a diamond formation around your blind. Thats how we do it

unless you have at least 10 of them, dont even put it out. Also, you need a mallard machine to stir the water beneath them. And get a good floating sled to pull the eight car batteries you will need. That is all you need.

I've heard of mojos flaring ducks, I've been on a few good hunts with mojos. And some really good ones with out any mojos.

They attract them but gadwalls and mallards flare off them just out of range...just about every time. I put one out but just about always wade out and turn it off. My 2 cents...

Hmm well I have 2 "wing things". They are cheap, lightweight, and easy to work with. But i'm not really sure if the 'big ducks' will like them if they don't like the mojo's. I guess i'll test them out using "trial and error"! Ha!

Back in 99, 00 & 01 we used spinners alot and they were extremely effective because few hunters used them and the ducks had not seem very much. We killed ALOT of ducks over them during this period, but they became less and less effective as seasons came and went and as word spread of how good they attracted ducks and everybody started using them. Ducks got used to seeing them from the time they left Canada till they got to the Delta. I used to use a spinner along with a jerk string, but now I only use a jerk string. Personally I would spend my $ on something else. They could be banned in few years anyway. Some states already have. Just my 2 cents worth!!
