Dish vs Direct TV

Postby TODO » Fri Dec 15, 2006 10:08 am

Im looking to wire the camp to the sky, im close to Greenville so local channels are really not a problem, although it would be nice to have via the satellite. Direct wants to sign a contract, give me the equipment and pay a monthly fee. Dish network has a pre-paid deal where i buy the equipment, and just pay when i want to watch, which i think is the way to go. Anybody have any thoughts on this?

6 of one 1/2 dozen of the other. Sounds like Dish Network has the plan you want though.
It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

Getting one on the home account for just 6 dollars more a month instead of the full amount that would be the best bet.

I have directv, but I am about to switch to dish. I do like most people do, take the extra receiver from the house to the camp. I'm just wondering whether or not I'll be able to pick up all the dish channels from the directv dish at the camp? If so, I'm not even going to bother putting up the new dish I got from ebay.

No, the receiver has a small external antenna that will pick up my remote from the back room of the house.
