Pics Ushering in the second season: doves again...

Postby Double R 2 » Sun Oct 08, 2006 3:45 pm

We had a great opener yesterday and hopefully irongrip will post a pic or two..

Today, another beautiful morning with friends and family (conspicuously absent was our buddy, Don Miller but we went right on ahead without him)...the weather was absolutely perfect and right about the sun came up, the doves started pouring in...

Forrest gets ready while bird boy Duncan and Delta look on...

You folks that have already been through it know what I'm talking about...Forrest managed his first limit-shoot this morning and made some beautiful shots...I don't know who was prouder, me or him...HA! He beat bigwater outta the field by a half hour!

Duncan didn't manage a limit but scrathed a couple from the air...

With the exception of Duncan and another, limits for everyone...

Nice!

Been seeing a few here, but not as many since the rice has sprouted.

I'm tired! :P

  But had a good second opener (weekend)

A little more chill was noticeable saturday than was sunday. But when the
action heated up, like always, the cold hands were forgotten.

The smiles showed up shortly after the sun.

And Marenisco, somebody's got a new Daddy now!

The birds were coming in heavy Sunday, and as mentioned Big had a bit of a
time shooting and finding them little silver bullets. Mabey too many the night
before? But I digress.
Looks like he is slimming up some, couldn't tell this was him till I zoomed in
on the puter.

I'm so happy my buddies Cajunman 1 & 2 made it up here. For number one
it was the first time he had even shot the new shotgun he bought two
summers ago! This is a pic of the workinman cajunman.

#2's pic is a classic, and I'll add it tonight since I fell asleep before I loaded last night.
:(

Teh proud poppa...Who searched like a rescue worker for ten minutes
trying ot find this dove.

..to make it official. First bird limit (sure to be of MANY) of Forrest's young
life. I feel pround for him and glad I was right there when he picked it up,
to take a shot of a great moment neither father nor son will soon forget.
