First doves

Postby Double R 2 » Wed Sep 13, 2006 7:18 pm

It's been a great dove season, I dare say the best ever. To cap it off, my youngest son, Duncan, age 6, shot his first 3 doves. One was even flying!

He's handling that 20 gauge recoil just fine. Doesn't bother him a bit.

DR2 giving Duncan some shooting instructions opening weekend in the bullpen
His aim wasn't true enough that day
But he obviously remembered his instructions...

Last weekend with birds everywhere Duncan draws down in the sunflowers
many of them taller than him. Tracking...

The shot was on time and on target, notice the ejected shell in the
air on the right...the one that didn't get away
