If you have not had MRI yet get that done. I was sure I had torn rotator cuff, was in tremendous pain when even moving my arm to the side. After couple of cortisone shots Doc thought it was likely a tear in labrum but after a MRI and some type of magnetic response test (seemed like acupuncture) come to find out I was unusually and had a supra-scapular nerve impingement. Still do not know if I know exactly what all the words mean but instead of muscle problem it was nerve. Had surgery done thru Semmes-Murphy in Memphis. Doc there told me if I would have waited much longer muscular atrophy would have been more severe. Surgery was pretty complex, but best thing was no muscles had to be cut so rehab was a breeze.
My father had his surgery done the first of August 05. A tough time on him. Was hellbent on being able to duckhunt opening day 05 season, and was. Alot of therapy and really took it easy. Shot a 20 guage first two weekends and built up to the twelve and did fine. He was 55 at surgery time and took about three and a half months to get back. Still takes it alittle easy on that shoulder.
