I have installed a few of these. Put it on the drop deck and leave the screws out of the flip tops on the back. That way when you raise it up, you can give it a few bumps above the bracket for an even close.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up mounting the front brackets on the upper deck.

I called an Avery rep.--He told me not to shorten the arms any. It will hurt the structural strength of the whole blind.

BUT the picture in the directions said to mount the thing on the Drop Deck portion of the bow.
Maybe a member of Avery will read this post.
Oh yea, it is a Prairie Adventure/Southern Duck Boat same thing-made by the same guy.

My buddy's War Eagle has the same problem. He mounted on the top deck as well.
