Anne says when you go out to feed Ace at the usual time, just bang his food pans or something.....make some sharp noises that he can associate with something he likes.......eating, retrieving, etc. Then progress to louder noises like the starter pistol with retrieving. :wink:

I did that when he was a pup. Worked great. He was picking up birds at 4 months while I shot a 12 gauge. Never flinched.

This week I have been throwing dead doves for him to retrieve. He did that for 2 days. I got the 20 gauge out the 3rd day. Shot twice. Now he doesn't even want to pick up a dove..even when I have no gun.

I'm no expert, but sometimes a young dog will go thru a "spell" where he loses his mind and his will to work. Be patient, keep working him slowly, I bet he'll come around.

Oh yeah, keep him out of the neighbor's yard. :shock:
