Being a virus, i'm just guessing that there would be no outward signs of infection on the meat. Could possibly be fungal--regardless, to the trash it would go!
you did put in the plug, right?

i cleaned one yesterday that had been previously shot!! looked like a grazing shot,you could see the trail where the shot cut the breast. it was ugly,nothing like mucus but it was green and funky looking. he went to the trash.
