Mallardshooter, the limit in KS is 4 roosters. Usually starts the 2cd sat of Nov. If you have a lab that will half ass quarter, you'll be alright. Just remember that bluestem can and will get thick, and those devilbirds can hide under a blade of grass! If you clean birds, leave at least one leg attached (and it better have a spur). Don't know of any outfitters in KS, but if I wanted to simply see and kill a ton of birds, I'd definately go to SD. DR2 is right, Mitchell and areas surrounding is a hot spot.

Might want to check out Liberal, KS in the SW corner, I've heard they have a few birds.

thanks for the help guys.
DR2 - i've been to mitchell, SD (business not pleasure) and it was a VERY long day of driving. i am looking for something a little cheaper than that. that sounds like a 'dream trip' but not really able to swing that.

i've read about the WIHA program, but it sounds like trying to duck hunt public land here. the locals know where to go, how to get there quick, and leave with a limit. it also sounds like a lot of walking involved, and i don't believe that my dad who's 65 could walk that much.

OLT - great pic. that's what i'd like to have for myself. not having a dog is the other reason for an outfitter.

Gadwall - sent me a PM about your offer.

Thanks again guys...
