Delta Waterfowl Tags
I sent in for one about a month ago and haven't heard anything back from it. What ever happened to them. Are they going to make it.
My tag is out of date on my truck and I kinda wanted to know something before I go and get one.

I just tried to contact Kevin Becker who was not in but I spoke to a lady named Linda who told me that there were enough...over 200 application filled out. They are in the process of verifying them. The final hurdle is getting this done in time to have them at the AG's office by September 1st. Although they have not completed verifying them, they were working on it now and felt fairly confident that they would meet the Sept. 1 deadline.

Are they going to give us a voucher for it or how will it work? My tag number has changed since I filled it out. Does it matter?

Weimhunter,
Sorry you have the feelings you do or at least the feelings your showing. I know not too long ago you posted a similar reply criticizing Delta's car tags. If there is no other reason to buy one other than in honor of Harden Phillips, that is a good enough reason for me. He worked hard to make this happen. Every time I see a Delta car tag, I will think about Harden.
I can't tell you exactly what the money will be used for, but I can tell you the Jackson Chapter of Delta Waterfowl committed $2,000/year for the next 3 years to the MDWFP's wood duck banding program last Tuesday (Aug. 15). Harden initiated this support two years ago with a $1,000 pledge. He also encouraged the Jackson Chapter to fund a scholarship at MSU's Collage of Forest Resources for a deserving student studying wildlife management. I wish I could tell you what the money might be used for.
Your friend in conservation,

That $2,000 will be well spent on nets, charges and other materials absolutely necessary for the woodie banding project. We catch enough ducks, we might just one day be able to put another woodie in the bag limit. I see that as DW helping to put duck dressing on my table....and I never turn down food.
SB, we can put some of it to use very soon up here. Got duck tracks galore on my #1 spot. They are hitting it hard.
So you boys help DW help you, by supporting them with your purchase of a tag; and make Harden's hard work come to fruition on the backs of the vehicles of MS sportsmen around the state.
