Hevishot is 18% tighter than lead. Since the shots will be 10 yards shoot IC or LM.

Bankermane, I was referring to early canada goose season in MS (not point blank range). When we go to Saskatchewan, I'm shooting Kent Steel BBB's at geese. I will prolly bring 20 rounds of Hevi Shot with me though.

3" #2 will be all you need for Geese. You won't need the high velocity either. 1300fps is plenty. Remember its heavier than lead and retains a lot of down range energy. With all due respect to Bankermane Hevi DOES pattern tighter than steel. I've taken the time (and expense) to pattern it on paper. Typically this works well as I shoot ducks with a Terror .700(LMOD). I know when a stray goose wanders by the Hevi will stay together for a longer shot. LMOD should be good for 50yds easy with Hevi. In the timber I'll shoot 3" #6 and a Skeet choke. Some time back Wal-Mart dumped their Hevi for $7-9 a box. I picked up about 3 cases worth. Steel gets the job done for me most of the time, but when the conditions are right I'll dig out the Hevi. I did some scouting this weekend for Canadas and plan to make use of some Hevi #2 come Sept 1.
