It's in a floating mass......and will get so thick we will loose access to some spots.

Not sure by the photo, but it looks like a species of sedge, which are common to most fresh water wetlands. Superficially they resemble grasses. The easiest way to tell a sedge from a grass is by shape of: if the stem is flat or rounded, then you've probably got a grass or a reed. If the stem is clearly triangular, then you've got a sedge.

Greenhead: I agree you got to have a landing zone.

I had a milo field years ago that I could only put a bout 6 inches of water on it. Guess what? No ducks. Guess why? They couldn't land. Of course milo sucks, but I agree it takes a duck longer to find food with no open water.

Spike rush is good food though.

1.5 oz /acre of Permit will take it down. cheap. dang near legal.. won't hurt critters. plus 1/2%surfactant
