I have a good one! I used to live off of Lakeland Dr. in Shadow Lake Apts. Well there is a small lake behind the apartments. The lake at one time was supposed to be great for fishing but after it was dug out and the development of Lakeland it wasn't much but fun to mess around with after work and drink a few. Well there were signs all around the lake that said beware of alligators. Sure enough we would see some small gators while fishing. We would throw top water baits at them and every once in a while catch one. Well the first time the Pearl got up we noticed it flooded the lake and some bigger gators showed up. Eventually we had a 12'+ gator that took up residence in the lake along with 4 or 5 - 8' gators. We would watch the gators and grew found of watching them. The manager of the apartment had a small child and was afraid the gator was going to hurt him. She reported the gators and trappers came out. When they got there they were drunk and just jumped in my boat and went after them. They hooked the big one and it drug them around the lake and got off. I made them bring me my boat and ran them off. Well they showed up the next day with their own boat and started after them. I called the be smart 800 number but couldn't get any help. So I went out to save my gators! Well they already had a 8 footer on the bank and it had a bullet hole in the top of the head. A crowd had gathered and kids were playing around it. I picked up a stick and touched it and its eyes moved. It wasn't dead it snapped at the stick and started towards the water. Thats when one of the mucle guys watching thought he would grab the tale and keep it from getting in the water well that gator drug him into the lake! The trappers came back to the bank and caught him agin and finished him off but they never got the big boy after several attemps! We named him Clarence for some reason. Like I said we drank beer out there!
