FWIW, i would NEVER NEVER let my dog near that place. just too many of em - esp in summertime. i'll go further too, if it's over 40 degrees, HE AIN'T GETTIN IN THE WATER....

been chased up a tree "somewhere" in the middle of december by a big gator.......had a few other run-in's wiff em, hence the hangle/nickname....gator

I grew up close to the okeefenokee swamp in southeast georgia. There is a swamp park that is somewhat of a tourist attraction. For some damn reason yankees love gators and being how there is alway a steady flow of them (yankees not gators) coming from up north to Florida every summer, the park always has plenty of stupid people. On more than one occasion someone has pulled up in a 40' RV and gets out to walk a dog and ends up playing tug-a-war with a gator and pretty much the gator always wins. They don't realize that the gators at this park are not in cages or pens and pretty much go where ever they want to. Which means they are all around the edge of the parking lot sunning, swimming, and FEEDING in the canals. I feel sorry for the dogs the damn people should know better, there are signs everywhere warning about this.
