I spend 50% of my time that I am not working or asleep with my dogs or doing something pertaining to dogs. My wife thought it would be something that came and went but she is about to realize that dogs are here to stay and she has started to make them a part of her life also..... which is a good thing. She may even go to a hunt test this fall. Been married for 3 years come september and if she would have had a problem with 30 minutes a day I probably would have kicked her booty to the curb long time before we got married. Life is too short for crap like that.

Now the money I spend on dogs....that's another story.  But then again, I got more time than money.

If she can't handle you spending time with the dogs - get rid of her! She'll NEVER change and it'll only get worse! You'll end up spending more and more time with the dogs AND more money... and she'll be jealous of it and make your life miserable! I'm female.. I know what I'm talking about!

The trick is to find someone that enjoys training dogs with you, but then you'll end up spending twice as much money because she'll want a dog of her own to train!

Good luck on this one... you've just got to figure out what's the most important to you.

Yeah right, Melissa, where's sumbody gonna find something like that? Here's my list - great looking, loves ME, loves my dog, loves to see me walk out the door, loves s e x . . . with ME, likes to hunt and fish with me - sometimes, loves to keep house when sho don't get to go do fun stuff, with about an 8 figure balance in her checking account.

And, for most of us here in the real world, it only gets worse as you go. This ain't the first complaint on this forum about too much dawg trainin and catching flack for it. Try having two kids and see if that frees up any additional time for dog training :? :?
