Thinking about taking a quick trip this fall with the wife. We haven’t nailed down anything yet but I was thinking we never vacationed AR and I’ve never trout fished. Any ideas or recommendations.

I’ve been to The Little Red Trout Dock on the Little Red River and Riley’s Outfitter on the White River in Mountain Home, AR. Both places are on the river with boat rentals on site. Riley’s had the best view and is in the middle of nowhere and the White River is supposed to have the better fishing. Grab an ultralight rod and some corn kernels or power bait and you can catch them all day.

North Fork River at Norfork, AR. Stay at either of the locations below and rent your boat from them or get a guide. The fishery is at the damn on this river, and they stock it weekly. Tons of fish to be had here.

I have stayed at both places and like each for what each is. The unit we stayed in at Gene's was a little nicer.

And you have to go to Two Rivers for all your fishing needs including possible guides.

And dip in Heidi's for a ruben at lunch. I dream about this sandwich.

Dinner one night at either River Run @ PJ's, (https://www.pjslodge.com/) or The Grill at Whispering Woods (https://www.whisperingwoodsar.com/grill).

It's a great little area that focuses on tourism well. But bring your groceries, it's a poke to get more.
