With all the mass shootings in the news of late, I have said that we have a 'Values Problem' in this country. But after hearing the "news" of the world and our country, and hearing the comments of the politicians who want to be our leaders, and witnessing the way people are driving during rush hour and acting in other public places, I have come to the conclusion that we have a serious 'Stupidity Problem' in this nation.

I need a drink.

Not to be contrary, but I think people know exactly what they’re doing. They aren’t stupid. They’re selfish and short-sighted. Living for me and living for the moment.

The church shooter in New Zealand said he was doing this to force more gun control.

Wonder how many of these other events are carried out for this purpose?

There was house bill called the hearing protection act that was on the verge of being passed. Shooting event grabs headlines and hearing protection gets tabled for a bit.

Bill comes back and is literally going to be voted on within a day or two before the LV shooting occurs.

Coincidence??

Good point stang67,but it does not explain such things as:

Wearing ratty pajamas to Wal-Mart
Acting as if the world owes you a damn thing
Admiring the Kardashians for being great political leaders
Believing everything on the internet
Agreeing with Antifa that radical gun control is good but Trump is bad
Eliminating ICE in order to solve the immigration problem
Trying to solve the drug, HIV, and homeless problems by giving out free syringes and tents.
Expecting the government to do everything for you
etc.
etc.

The wife and i were discussing this very subject last night while listening to talking heads on tv.
She boiled it down to " disintegration of the family". I could not agree more.

I went back and reread this thread I started earlier because I have been thinking lately.

peewee is right. The lack of a father figure for people in society IS a real problem, and it hasn't truly been addressed adequately. I know that I am working my butt off to be the best Dad I can be for my little Angel, as are most all of you for your kids.

Soooo, what can be done about this problem? We all agree that men ARE important.Y'all got any advice? And yes, this is a serious subject of prayer for me.

Putting on my tin foil hat, I think a lot of things(not specifically mass shootings because I don't want to believe anyone or group could be that heinous), but a lot of events and things we see as crazy and stupid, are very calculated. In politics, yes Bernie and Warren are lunatic crazy. They float these characters out early, then you see Bloomberg or Buttgig and think "man he's not that bad after seeing their other candidates". Same with liberal policies. They'll push for 110% gun control with the hopes of some other type of regulation a little more in their direction.

****I cant see the comments from peewee or Joel****

This website is about as broken as society is today. This is certainly a very complex problem that I’m not afraid to admit is way over my head. I’ll keep training up my kids (young adults at this point) and praying for all the others until a better approach is presented.
