So apparently they have confirmed another case of CWD in Ponotoc County this week. It's not any more comforting to know that this deer has probably eaten under the same feeder or pile of sweet potatoes in that area since he has been infected. Given the location of where the first case was vs this location just tells me that it's probably a problem more widespread than we thought. Thats one county N of where I deer hunt so this one hits a little closer to home and can't blame it on some rouge deer that might have swam the river from other places. It's the heart of N Miss.

was it a bow kill or car kill?

Didn't say, just that it had tested positive and they were sending to another lab to confirm it and would announce a CWD Control measure later if it is confirmed.

Close to my house, heard it was in a yard and was chasing a dog when killed by home owner, really poor and sick looking. Cherry creek area in Pontotoc.

I have it on good authority that at least 2 commissioners googled “CWD” after hearing this news.

Put there by the MDWFP to drive down the high land prices of ponotoc county. If not for that reason, it was put there by the department to make the one found in the south delta last year not as obvious. Either way, you can bet "the department" is behind this. I have it on good authority they are keeping a herd of CWD infected deer on the set of the "moon landing" out at area 51 for the sole purpose of driving down land prices statewide. Their intention is to buy back over a million acres to put back under state ownership and have a "super club" for the commissioners and wardens.

What about the restricted counties from last year? Is that ban from feeding lifted?
