armyworms
armyworm time, if you’ve got any grains up in holes or plots you may want to check them! gottem all over the yard. spraying now and again in a week or so to get any that were developing during the first treatment.
Experience is a freakin' awesome teacher...

Re: armyworms
I have hit my yard twice now. Worked hard all summer getting this yard perfect and the bastards are in there. Sprayed about 3-4 weeks ago in the front and then this past week when I saw one in the dog bowl. It was like the ground was alive when I came over the top with 1.5oz/gal of permethrin.

This is why I never plant plots until late September or early October.

Is there anything you can plant for an early season bow plot that army worms won't attack? I don't care if I have to replant after bow season but want to try something. Will they still get into Iron Clay peas? I've got some land that back up next to Thrash and I want to get an early jump on him.

I’m going to have to put you under surveillance son. You could end up like some of Hillary’s enemies;)

Re: armyworms
Hope you didn’t have young millet!
They whipped us out. Took less than 4 days to dry enough to support a truck to our field. Pulled up to clean up the broadleafs and they had picked it cleaned. Hate the things. 2nd yr in a row they’ve got me. They didn’t eat anything else so it seemed! Broadleafs looked great!
Is there a pre-insecticide?

Doesn’t intrepid have a bit of a residual lasting effect to it?
I’m spraying millet right now with it right now with ravage and intrepid.

Re: armyworms
Are there natural browse alternatives that army worms won't touch? Last year we planted millet and they cleaned it out.
