New duck load that I'd love to afford

Postby teul2 » Wed Jul 25, 2018 7:54 am

So, apparenly Federal is selling a TSS and BlackCloud blend shell only available through Rogers. I bet this stuff is NASTY on a tree top mallard.

Introducing the hardest hitting Waterfowl load from Federal and it's only available from Rogers Sporting Goods.

FLITECONTROL FLEX WAD
A tight rear breaking wad that opens from the back and does not disturb your shot pattern, giving you improved pattern density and consistency through both ported and standard waterfowl chokes.

The wad’s redesigned rear-deploying petals and side-mounted vents stimulate the payload for separation from the wad at the ideal moment for dense, deadly patterns. Plus, the efficient Catalyst™ lead-free primer and clean-burning, temperature-stable propellant significantly decrease residue in the barrel.

SHOT BLEND
With a 60/40 blend of Black Cloud Flitestopper Steel and the Densest Tungsten Super Shot (TSS) available - we've extended your range out to 50 yards, lead doesn't even come close for stopping power.

Available in 12 Gauge 3" in two blends 7 & BB's, and 3 & 9's

Sold by the case. 10 shells box, 10 boxes per case.

Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)

there always seems to be a new "hardest hitter" each year...I think Kent has more of the tungsten matrix and bismuth back into production, too.

Hope they are not hype like the regular black clouds. I got 2 cases 2 seasons ago because they had a good rebate in them and seemed to have way more cripples than cheap steel shot. Only used about 6-7 boxes on ducks and used the rest on squirrels.

If it's anything like the tss turkey loads they better have plenty of inventory!!!! That stuff flew off the shelf like no shell I have ever seen. And they were not cheap. No doubt tss is bad news and you can shoot a much more open choke but again it's wayyyy pricey for a duck. I can see it for turkey hunting where you may shoot 3 times but a duck is a different story. But I am sure it will sell out

Makes me that much more appreciative of my ability to hunt private. Even if it sucks, at least I don't have deal with a boat load of face painting flat billed kneebooters with a brand new case of this $#!+.

The new turkey/duck hunters motto: Can't scout? Can't call? "@#$%#" it! TSS! For those days when 70 yds is "good enough".

I thought that stuff was significantly more expensive than regular heavy shot?

Thanks.

yep, more in line with heavy shot, kent tungsten/bismuth, etc that are sold by "small box" at or above $3/shell.

I dont' shoot nearly well enough for those to ever be shucked from the receiver of my duck gun!

So finishing Ducks is out!

Save on decoys!
Save on Camo!
Save on calls!

Buy this stuff!
No need to let em pass, shoot when they duck below the clouds!

TSS is some amazing stuff though. It changed turkey hunting for sure. I don’t see why it won’t change duck hunting.
If I don't do it, I ain't gettin nun.......So i'm doing it

Over $3 a shell to shoot a duck? I can understand for a turkey but for a season of shooting ducks? Topwaters going to be taking out loans to buy cases of this.

Two things come to mind when considering the available blends:
1. 7 & BB's--opening dove/early Canada season
2. 3 & 9's--duck/late dove season
Brilliant! That's all.
