Oak Tree Pest Issue

Anybody ever had any issues with smaller darker caterpillar like pests eating the leaves off of their oak trees? Got a smaller oak in my front yard that has a couple of limbs that are almost bare now. Admittedly I've never seen an actual army worm in person like some of you have described being food plot pests but these don't look like army worms. These are probably half that size and are a brownish grey almost the same color as the bark. It actually took me a few minutes to find one as they blend in well. I looked through the MSU extension service page and couldn't find anything that resembled these. Any thoughts or suggestions for a fix? I know this is probably useless without pics but I forgot to snap one this morning.

I’m seeing some silk nest in trees right now along the roadside, I’m guessing this is what you’re talking about? Just mix up a backpack sprayer or pump up sprayer full of permethrin and hose them down.

I like this product.

Pray you don't get "oak root death syndrome". Lost young and old and no cure....
