Flooding

Postby mshunter77 » Wed Mar 14, 2018 12:03 pm

Anybody flooded out yet. I got a few friends that have camps that are about to get water in the buildings. No relief for them until Steel Bayou opens.

Good chance for backwater levels higher than we’ve seen in about 35 years.

We are on 16 between Rolling Fork and Holly Bluff. Have been for a couple of weeks.

They have been saying the worst in 35 years but the river is only 50 ft? didn't it get to 55 or something like that not 10 years ago?

This is on the backwater side, opposite side of the levee from the Big Muddy. We don’t normally get so much rain with the river so high. Anybody seen the reservoirs lately?

On the protective side of the yazoo river levee in the belzoni area, the back water is about 3 feet higher than it was during 11.

Wingman has some aerial photos of the flooding on his Facebook page if anyone is interested in looking and you know who he is.

I checked my gate today, don’t know if it’s open or not but the gauge reading is the same on both side so it could be open and there’s just no current?

Apparently the levee has broke somewhere on a Mahannah.
