Where to Buy Bulk Wheat

Postby 420 racin » Tue Aug 08, 2017 7:41 am

Anybody got a lead on bulk wheat somewhere around the Vicksburg/South Delta/Jackson area? If it will ever stop raining we might be able to get a dove field ready

Roger at Specialty Seed has some right now. $5.00 bag. (662)836-6451. He is located east of Anguilla in the Straight Bayou Community. He has seed wheat too, GA Gore variety. I'm not sure of seed wheat's price.

If planting seed wheat for spring harvest, the normal seeding rate is 90-150 lbs. per acre......depends on whether drilling or broadcasting, and soil type.

I believe the manual says 80/ acre, safest bet would be 50

For doves, 80 lbs. is just fine.....but, you won't find many Delta farmers planting only 80 lbs. of seed wheat, if they are planning to harvest it.
