Headed out to Colorado in early September for 8 days bow hunting Elk, havent been since 1994, whats the best hiking boots out now and any advise on Sitka gear would be great...... :shock:
Kids are like coots,they come in droves for me..........

I've used Danners to do the same, whatever you choose be sure to break them in well before you go

Danner's are ok, but I have a pair of Vasque hiling boots that I like. Go on Bowsite.com and search the subject. You could read for 3 days. To me Danner or Vasque or something mid grade for those of us that only go west once or twice a year. I bought some Lowa's from the innerweb and regretted it!

camofire has some good deals on sitka (%50/60 off of a few jackets and mountain pants going on now), generally smaller and larger sizes, gotta be quick before med-large sell out.
Experience is a freakin' awesome teacher...

+1 on the Cabela Euro 10 x 42. I elk hunt with a guy that has the Swarovski and he will even tell you he can't tell the difference.
