TSS for turkeys, figured it would be to much money for ducks. Only reason I say to much money is that I shoot the cheapest shells possible. I couldn't imagine shooting 2-3 cases of tss in 3" 1.25oz.

Re: How many of you guys shoot TSS?
TSS is some awesome stuff.
A 28 gauge or 410 I could see it.
A 20? I don't know. The steel loads these days aren't shabby.
I remember hearing a story of an accountant who got into duck hunting. He went out and got the best of everything. That was right when hevi hit the scene. They said he'd tense up when a flock would come in and would mutter something after every pull of the trigger. Later to find out it was 2.34, the cost every time he pulled the trigger lol.
What's it selling per pound now? turkey hunting it's the bees knees. To load 25 shells seems like it'd be north of 100 dollars a box. That be stout to stomach for the majority of hunters. Or so I would think

$38/lb shipped and insured to your door. A 1/2 oz 20 ga load will run you about $1.50, and a 3/4 oz load around $2.00 to load.

I understand the concept of shooting smaller loads since the shot size vs steel is so much different. I still do not see for me as it being the next big load for waterfowl due to cost. If you can get it down to $1.50 a shell you are looking at 375 a case. I know the benefits of TSS however I do not see the marketing for me of promoting 70 yard kill shots.
I totally see the benefits for turkeys. One shot even if at 15 dollars doesn't matter. It's like deer hunting who cares if one shot cost 20 dollars. You are not shooting 500-750 shells a year.
One more thing I feel good shooting a stationary target at lets say 50 yards. That changes when target is at 50 yards moving at lets say 8mph.

Re: How many of you guys shoot TSS?
I haven't tried TSS on turkeys. But a good friend swears by it. He did NA slam this season with a 20ga and TSS. So I guess it works pretty well.
Don't think I'd go to the expense of using it on ducks. But it would sure help on early season honkers. This past season, we had honkers take direct hits to the chest, landing, and they picked up and fly off. Saw the shot impact on them. These weren't long shots. They were at or inside 40 yds. Just big tough geese.
It would be worth $2 a shell to shoot them dead right there. I don't shoot that many shells during early season anyway.

Never assume.

Blingslinger, what's the recommended load for resident giants? What's the cost?
Never assume.
