decoy weights for current

Postby Deltaduk » Wed Nov 23, 2016 9:45 pm

Hunt on a river in arkie, been using half bricks with stiff wire looped inside and carabineers for anchors . been looking for something different to deal with the current dragging decoys downstream.
what yall use? have found 12 oz mushrooms weights and 12 oz J anchors also. Anyone got any better ideas?

Chain links-bout the medium size chain that you use for trailer chains. You want it to be long for its weight, the longer it is the more surface area it had on the bottom.

I use em for flathead fishing in tail races where all the rock/snags will swallow a solid weight every time. With a chain, you can usually get 2 or 3 casts before it gets hung.

It has much less drag vs a weight of the same..er..weight.
