Need some lawn expert advice.....

Postby dukluk » Wed Sep 21, 2016 8:55 am

Okay, I've had it !!!!! Nut sedge has over-taken about half my lawn, and that crap grows about an inch a day.
I use Roundup and 2,4-D in the spring, with follow-up treatments of MSMA. Dang, I think they're adding fertilizer in some of these chemicals, now.

I'll do whatever and whenever to get rid of the nutsedge !!!!!

Help, please !!!!!

sedgehammer and sedge ender have both worked well for me. can't remember about sedgehammer, but sedge ender has some pre-emerge in it to keep it at bay for a while.
whatever you do, do NOT pull it...when pulled, little nutlets/nodules are released from the roots that send up new growth.

I tried Ortho Nutsedge Killer Ready To Use in places and it SMOKED my newly laid tifway 419 bermuda. I too will need a different route come next February-March before it takes over.
