Black locust herbicide

I'm reading that basal bark treatment with Remedy is a reasonably successful way to kill black locust. We have a few patches of them in an old pasture. Many trees are 6-12" dbm and toug sprouts are always coming up on the edges. We have planted hardwoods adjacent and within these patches of locust. Any risks to the planted hardwoods from this kind of herbicide treatment that I need to be aware of?

Anything with Triclopyr I just got some stuff from Tractor Supply to so some. I'm going to hack and squirt the larger ones and spot spray the smaller ones. It has worked well in the past
