Pigeon Forge

Postby mshunter77 » Thu May 19, 2016 9:32 am

Headed up to Pigeon Forge for a guy's trip. Have not been there since the 90's. Any recommendations for eating and may somewhere for some drinks later on.

Can't help you on food & booze, but make the loop through Cade's Cove if you get a chance.
I saw 6 bears there a couple of weeks ago.

It's quicker to go through the National Forest instead of the parkway!

Alamo Steakhouse is really good. Locally owned, some of the best beef you'll ever eat.

I was not impressed with the Alamo Steak House. Old Mill is good and The Applewood farmhouse. Not many places for drinks and if you want hard liquor there is only one liquor store in Gatlinburg. None in Pigeon Forge.
There is a really good BBQ place on the main strip but cant remember the name. It is close to Reagans Pancake house.

Try Smoky Mountain Brewery, pretty sure there is one in Pigeon Forge and another in Gatlinburg. The burgers and pizza are great and they have quite a few good beers brewed on site.

Week hike Mount Leconte once a year and have now for the last 8 years, but listed below are of the things we always do while in Gatlinberg.

Breakfast - Old Mill and Pancake Pantry (cash only here, but they have a ATM incase you forget)
Lunch - Apple Barn or Corkys BBQ
Dinner - smoky mountain Brewer and Peddler steak house (they'll actually cut the meat in front of you and is always our most expensive meal)

Activities - tons of short hikes, Cade's cove, clingmans dome, golf, etc
