Does anyone make a flatback aluminum pirogue strong enough for a small mud motor?

Thanks. That 1228 is kinda what I'm looking for. Although paddling my cottonmouth with 160 pounds of crawfish, and a bait bucket on board is improving my arm wrestling abilities.

Rob I trap them out of an old town canoe. Don't rule out a canoe.
If I had the money you have, I'd buy a gheenoe and be done with it.

I should've just kept your Sport Boat. I sold it to a friend and he moved the rear seat forward and put a surface drive on it. We ran traps in it the other day and it was awesome.

I remember when you sere selling that boat. it was a really nice rig.
I have a 14' old starcraft. its V nose, but its pretty flat with rounded sides. it gets through the woods really good with a long tail.....
it is comparable to a sport boat - you may find one for little of nothing.

Wingman you might check out a Gheenoe. I have a buddy that has one and it is very stable and will certainly hold a small mud motor. He runs a 15hp Johnson on his.

I still miss my 15' Highsider Gheenoe. That thing was the tits. Although I'm not sure how often I'd use it now with an 1860 G3, I'm sure I'd get some use out of it. I got mine for a hell of a deal for $800 boat, trailer, and 6hp motor. And it was in great shape. Just have to scour Craigslist and be prepared to drive several hours away to find one for a good price. a 13' Highsider might be more up your ally if you are just using it for one person. The 13' is light enough for one person (of normal strength) to load in a pickup if it doesn't have a trailer (about 100lbs).
