We all know chicken liver is a good bait . Has anyone tried chicken gizzards or hearts with any success ?

I like hearts better, stay on better. But I do take them and soak them in the liver juice and some garlic salt.

I use liver a good bit, but where do you get chicken hearts from?

Big decoy how has the fishing on the Rez been? Specifically in the spots I sent you.
I have moved from Jackson since we talked last and I'm just curious.

Just floating around checking old posts and saw this one.

Does anyone ever see anymore catalpa worms? I have come across several trees and not the first worm on any. Growing up we had 2 at the house and would get tons every year!! They were some of the best catfish bait I ever used.

When I fished the MS river several years ago I would use deer meat usually the shoulder that I had shot up. I never thought about putting garlic and such I would just let it soak in it own blood. I would even put back into the bucket when going form hole to another.

I found out rainbow trout works pretty awesome. I kept the heads off a few I caught and kept and they worked like a charm.
However, my favorite bait has always been frozen whole shrimp. Or at least with shell on. Cheap bag from the grocery store works just fine. I don't fish for catfish more than once or twice a year anymore, so when I do go with friends on a lake trip, I just buy a small bag of frozen shrimp for $5 when we run jugs.
