Based on how fast he peddles his boat away, I'm gonna guess real. But that said the gator looks a little fake, never moves, water not disturbed near the boat....

Real. I've seen gators come up like that while hunting them. They don't always respond thrashing and chomping. And that fella wasn't interested in bothering that gator because eventually that's what he would have done. Colder water also makes them more docile.
