Well, It Is Over...rate the 2015/2016 Duck Season

Postby Deltamud77 » Mon Feb 01, 2016 9:14 am

With 10 being the best season you have ever had and 1 being a worst (as far as birds seen and/or killed and opportunity in general).

I'd rate this season as a 1.5 for me.

I noticed you didn't have a negative rating in your system, as such I can't leave an appropriate rating. Cause it was bad. I'm just before saying to hell with them and letting yall have it.

I'm thinking that I'd like to try turkey hunting. I've never been, and since the In-Laws will be back in time for me to try it....

-4 super high water no ducks thrown out back pinched nerve camp flooded launches locked. It will be another seasoned with highs and lows talked about. So it really wasn't that bad.

2. If it gets rid of the idiot public land guys that setup 50 yards away and highball all morning and skybust, then I will revise this rating at a later date.

9. I went one time and we limited out. I had rather gone more, but when the weather and ducks aren't right, I don't waste my time. As a person who grew up and lives in Panola and Tallahatchie Counties.......I hope we have several more years just like this one. To many flooded fields-most that have not business being flood- with a couple guys sitting all day waiting for a duck to fly by. Just because it will hold water does not make it a duck hole and just because you paid $$$$, doesn't mean you need to come hunt(or sit all day).

And yes, I have a lease that I did not hunt a single time because it never got right.

As a guide that had people in the field most days in the season, I would rate it a 1. This finished my 18th year of guiding and I have never seen anything like that. Most days were like the worst days of previous years as far as numbers go. As far as the comradery, I would rate it a 10.

My numbers are close to 1/2 of last years. I didn't go as much either due to some deer hunting. It was hot and mosquito filled.
I'll give it a 8 or 9 because my group ended yesterday on this.
Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)

3. Didn't kill many at all, but saw some great sunrises with friends and didn't fall in. So that counts for two points or something.

I did get skunked alot, I did fall once and get soaked, Hit a deer on the way to the duck hole this past sat morning. It was really bad this season but the fact that I did get to hunt and killed a banded speck I give it a 1.5
