4 seems to be the right number (for duck numbers and harvest)...a lot of hunts where it took 2 or 3 people till 9:00 or 10;00 clock to kill on average 6-12 birds. Was not but a couple or 3 limit hunts all season. Mallard % of bag was up but we killed most of them coming in as pairs or groups of 4. I enjoyed a lot of it. Fewer duck numbers made youngsters pick their shots better it seemed. We toted less decoys to the holes, sometimes using as few as 6. We bought one of those gas portable camp stove things that was the bomb. We killed a couple of very nice bucks while we were duck hunting/scouting (overall we shot 38 deer off of our farm so that says we deer hunted more than ever). Had we not got the huge rain just days leading up to the opener it probably would have been rated a 5 or a 6 season just because we had a bunch of ducks for 3 weeks until the big rain. Had the opener been a 4 or 5 man limit like the season before, that alone would have bumped it up a number.
Are we gonna get wet?
