Eventful morning duck hunting

Postby levi127 » Thu Dec 10, 2015 2:22 pm

Fog was unreal all morning till after 9am. Killed 6 luckily but they just dropped out of no where and should have gotten more, 2 of us hunting. About 930 buddy said he sees a snake! I hate them period. Looked down in the pit and the joker was about 3 feet from next to a sunk decoy we pulled out of the field. Good little cotton mouth is was. About 14 inches long and fat! He was fine till we tried to get him out with a stick and then he was pissed off! Didn't end well with him after that.
So watch it with this weather. He had been in the pit all morning we believe.
May the wind always be at your back and the sun upon your face, and may the wings of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars.
Cheers, Georgie.

I'm glad I slept in this morning. Was worried about the exact same thing

Me too, but I went out in the yak anyway. Didn't get squat because I didn't see squat within range. I did see a few mallards in the same place as last time though, so I think I will try there when I go back.
