The 390 is a fine gun...I don't know why the WalMart 390 would be any different than the Silver Mallard that I once had. The performance of an automatic in the duck blind depends 100% on the process of cleaning and maintenance. I don't care what kind of gun it is.

The first thing I would do is strip every bit of factory lubricant from the gun with gun scrubber..then oil it LIGHTLY myself.

Actually the Wally World 390 is made here in the US, while the 391 is made in Italy. There was a special on American Shooter (OLN) not too long ago. Really cool show, Berrett, Benelli, and Franchi are now owned by the same company.

Why not save your money and get a camo 391. Better resale value, lighter recoil, and if you keep it half-way dry it will work.

Swann's in Jackson sells them for less than $850, I think.

Sometimes you just have to close your eyes, count to ten, take a deep breath and remind yourself that you wouldn't look good in prison stripes... and just smile at that dumbass and walk away.

I have to say I love my Walmart bought 390. I shoot it as much as my high dollar guns. It cycles a bit slower than my old Remingtons but it is fun to shoot.

Make sure you do what others have said and clean it thoroughly before your first shot. It likes light oil, and I have found it to stand up to tough dirty conditions just fine. Hard to beat the value for the buck, far as I'm concerned.
