Postby merlebo05 » Fri Dec 04, 2015 7:08 pm

So I take the plug out of my browning gold which shoots 3 1/2 inch shells and I still can't get but three 2 3/4 in shells in the magazine, whats up with that?? How many should it be able to hold, at least 5 no??

Give me some ideas of what may be causing an obstruction!! Only thing in the tube is a spring and I have taken it out and put it back in several times to no avail..

you also have a cap and follower in there. cap may not be at the end of the tube.

The spring does seem to be extra long and kinda difficult to get it all back into the tube.. I wonder if I could cut some of the spring off and if so how long would it need to be?

take every thing out of the mag tube (cap, spring, follower) and clean the tube with a bore brush and some patches. Make sure all parts are clean, and then function test the follower. with something to push it in and out.

Is this a gun you got new or used?

Spring could have compressed due to some malfunction, but i doubt it. Seems like an issue in / with the mag tube.
