I was talking specifically about the generation two that they just released it uses a different barrel extension and bolt and bolt carrier.

The DPMS Gen one is the most compatible platform there is.b

If you want a complete rifle that you don't ever intend to do significant modifications to, then get the gen 2. If you think you would like to change parts out, swap barrels etc. get the Gen 1

Hopefully there will be some makers producing items for the Gen 2 in the near future?

Thanks. I was really leaning toward a Bushmaster but y'all may have sold me on DPMS. Now...what am I willing to sell to make this happen.....? :(

Just wait until Hillary gets elected before you sell something. It'll be worth a lot more then.

Seriously, don't go selling anything

Wildfowler, Gator....I bought the Gen 1 Oracle and I'm pretty pleased with it. Got rained out and didn't get it dialed in as well as I would like but it will hold 2" groups at 200 yds with cheap hunting rounds with no trouble. The trigger is my only concern. It wasn't as bad as I expected but a little "gritty" and the pull is pretty long which I don't like shooting off a bench. Have y'all put new triggers in yours? Which one?

I'm also looking for a sling and recoil pad if y'all have any suggestions.

Billy Tierce did a two stage trigger job on mine. I now wish I would have changed to a single stage, but it is a Ton better than from the factory.

I buy these for my my AR's:

http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/tr ... 53928.aspx

The "act" version. Still maintains the mil-spec properties but it much crisper feeling with very little to no creep. I've got several of these and they do not all feel identical but they are significantly better than generic trigger.

I prefer mil-spec just because I don't want to put a really light trigger in this kind of rifle. Especially when I may want to let other folks use it. But that's just my quirk and I find these triggers to be a major improvement.

If you're getting two inches at two hundred yards I'm very impressed as is.

Darn..

There is a lot going on in these rifles. You should follow through with the trigger. Wait until Bullet hits target before you release the trigger. Get used to hearing the reset of the trigger click after you let off.

I always use my left hand to hold the forearm and actually pull firmly into my shoulder. Even on a bench. I'm not sure what kind of stock you have but there are butt pads made for most of them.

I swear, sometimes I think owning an AR would be cool. Then I start to hear about all the options on uppers, lowers, triggers, barrels, jig-hoppers, and shrouds, and I think, "Too rich for my blood."

I like shotguns better anyways
