Parking a big truck
Parking a big truck
I drove a Toyota Camry for the past seven years. Then yesterday I bought a Z71 crew cab. Parking it is like negotiating an M1-Abrams Main Battle Tank through the streets of old Paris. Is this something you get used to?
Re: Parking a big truck
yeah you do. In March I went from a two door F150 extended cab to a full crew cab 4 door F150, added about 2 foot in length and they are 7-8 inches wider. Just have to use those mirrors and the back up cam. I wish they had a front cam you could engage when negotiating tight spots but unfortuantly they dont.

When in doubt, stomp the gas. Odds are it's just someone's Camry....
My biggest problem (F150 crew cab) is parking in my garage w/ 9' rollup doors. You best be paying attention every single time, got about 3" outside the mirrors on each side.

Are you a married man? If so, another thing to get used to is the chin music from the passenger seat "There's a good spot, why don't you park over there?" "Why do we have to park here?"

I thought you meat a semi, eighteen wheeler, tractor trailer.
Back a 40' trailer in to the loading dock at Madison County Co-op or Magee Farm Supply, and then you're officially a driver.

Thanks for the amusing feedback. I initially thought to save the car for my daughter since she will be 16 in 14 years. The car will still be running like a champ since it's a Toyota.

Me too, Wingman. I was thinking it was going to be air brake question on an 18-wheeler.

I back in most spots. Plus, you never know when you might need to make a quick getaway.
