It actually kind of freaks me out people treat him this way...he is just another person. The way people wth terminal issues think touching the pope will heal them it's super cultish.

Most important verse I can think of that came straight from Jesus' mouth is this.

Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6) That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7.) Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' John 3:5-7

Any man that is a leader of a church (any church) and out of his mouth tells people that an atheist will go to heaven has lost any support
from me and should lose it from any one who professes Christ. Can those people be saved? YES they can, but only if they do the above.

I don't judge any denomination and will never tell you who's wrong or right. I'm just reading the Words that were given to me by my Savior.
Anyone that calls this man or any other man, "Holy Father", should have their judgment questioned.

The Left is praising the Pope because:

(1) He supports environmentalism - Of course, all of us want our resources protected, but we question whether it takes government cap and trade to get it done and question how they calculate what should be done (since they are continuously caught cooking the books). The Left is stretching what he is saying for their own purposes - surprise, surprise.
(2) He supports recognition of latin american immigrants that are here illegally - of course he does, he is from latin america is grew up in a nation that is (a) socialist/communist and (b) does not have sovereign rule like we do, and (c) is much poorer than us as a nation. Of course, the left wants illegals to convert them to citizens to win elections (if they though for a moment that these illegals given amnesty would vote for the GOP, the border would be secured with armed drones and F-16s 24/7).

Ask yourself this question if you are confused by the hoopla made of the Pope's visit - when was the last time the progressives of this country were excited about anything that approximated Christianity?

I cannot think of a time in my life.

Therefore, there must be an ulterior motive. With politics, that is power and money. Cap & Trade increases government power and money, and reduces private sector power and money. Amnesty for illegals increases votes...which increases power.

It is very simple.

Caveat: I am not Catholic. I am evangelical Christian.

That being said, I like this guy. Not simply because he can talk the talk, but because he actually walks the walk.

It has been my personal experience growing up, that the ones who best exemplified the love of Christ toward others were NOT the good ole Baptists I went to church with. (In fact, I was even bullied by a teacher at a Baptist Church School, as well as from a couple of other knuckle-dragging, nerd-haters, but that's another story for another time.) No. The ones who best showed ME the love of Christ among my peers were the Catholic students.

Therefore, I appreciate both the actions and comments of Pope Francis. God bless him.

The left ain't that smart? Over the last 30 years, they've infiltrated and taken over our media, our schools and universities, and now our churches while we did nothing, and now they indoctrinate our citizens and control our society....WE are the foolish ones.

While they may not be aboe to vote right now as illegals....the whole AMNESTY thing changes their status and then they will be allowed to vote...either for the Dems who granted you the amnesty or the Rep. who did nto want to grant you the amnesty and did not want you here illegally in the first place.........I bet they vote for the dems

But they are about to vote. That is what amnesty is about and that is what this Pope is calling for it appears. If the 40 million illegals in this country are given citizenship, which is the full intention of the left, then you can forget about a Republican every occupying the WH ever again and you can forget about the GOP ever having a majority in Congress again.

That is the whole reason for the love of immigrants. If the Democrats thought for a second that even half of those they seek to grant citizenship to would vote Republican, Obama would have the borders protected in a way that would be mind blowing. Instead, our border patrol has been given stand down orders.

This is about future votes. Period.

Most of my family is Catholic, and as a child when I did go to church or a family wedding it was Catholic one. I never did like or understand all the rituals and I still haven't figured out the aerobic exercise routine at each service.. :D And to me there always seemed to be more focus on The Pope and Mary and less on Jesus.

With that being said the Pope is the spiritual leader of roughly 1 billion Catholics which is 1/7 of worlds population. That is huge influence!!! And I do think that Pope has a role to play providing guidance. I watched most of his remarks.. He is focused on helping the poor (which is good), a clean environment (which is good) and protecting life (which is good).. I don't have a problem with him promoting these things because I think they are all good things.. And I don't recall him telling us "how" we should accomplish these goals..That would be getting into Police and politics. He didn't really do that.. He said we should protect all life, which is hard to argue. While I am anti abortion, I have been Pro death penalty, and he made me at least rethink that..Which I think is his proper role..

He should both confirm and challenge our beliefs so that we are always seeking to find what Jesus would do.. Again, he is just a man, but I admire is life and his wisdom and he did challenge me to be a better Christian..
