Mcalister gear

Postby crackhead » Wed Sep 23, 2015 6:55 pm

It is crazy what this stuff is going for now. Any drake guys close to Tate hear anything about him ever revamping that line again? Heck I've probably got two thousand dollars worth of it by what's it's going for online. Just curious.

They are doing a Classics line now. None of the shell vests in the canvas, but the coats and sweaters.

Yeah but it's all low quality wax fabric. That coat is total garbage.

Wouldn't doubt it. Haven't put hands on any of it.

I have the coat. It's got leather trim.

I sold a wader jacket for 250 the other day. It was practically brand new though. The wader vest are going for more than that.

After my original mcalister wax coat died on me last year with 10 seasons and probably 5 tins of Filson wax on it I got a Filson green tin field coat. Wouldn't look back or even think about getting the paper thin drake coat.

Buddy of mine in our camp just came out with a new waxed canvas bag and will have wading vests available soon. He's been working with Jason Perry who started Mcalister.

Never owned McAlister till it went on sale. Had the old Columbia stuff forever, and now I have new Columbia stuff. Still can't believe they warranted bibs and pants I bought when I was 17. Anyway got a full line McAlister bibs, wader coat, vest, jac shirts, pants, etc for extremely cheap. Maybe I should do like the old rnt calls and strike while the iron is hot. Bibs, pants, and 3 shirts are still in the packaging.

It's crazy to say, but you could get more for that stuff now than when it was brand new...

Picked up a green Barbour jacket last year, well actually early Christmas present from wife. I think it's equivalent or a little thicker than the shelter cloth from Filson but don't quote me on that. But man I think it will last me a long time. Tried on all the Filson and Barbour stuff at Circle7 and for a jacket that can take abuse I don't think you would go wrong with either since McAlister isn't made any more. Price is about the same for both.
