Deep sea fishing

Need help planning trip for my wife and me. We have never been deep sea fishing. Where would you fish from? What would be the best time to go? Would you go out with walk on trip or charter?

Venice LA, charter. Many to choose from.
Do you want a boat ride or a catching alot of fish trip? You will be limited on fish with just you two, and if she is not used to that work, you may do all the work. If your not used to it you better have somebody to switch off with. Get two more couples to go with you.
ONE sick wife ruins a trip, think about that. But your looking at 18-2200 so the other folk can help with that too.

Do the charters pair you up with other people if you don't have enough people to go?
