The biggest deer i ever caught on camera on our place was on a feeder have 3 monsters standing in one pic!! But i will admit about 2 weeks into bow season and bam never caught them on cam again. Big boys are smart but i could have gotten a couple with my bow over that feeder. But i'll admit i have had that plot and feeder every year for probably 10 years now. i dont hunt over this plot or feeder. i stop feeding corn in gun season and use it to take very young kids to try and get them excited about hunting. Face it kids now a days gotta see deer and ducks and get some kills in to take much interest. Hard to compete with those phones ipads and xboxes and such.

The timber co we lease from forbids feeding any time of year and began being abundantly clear about that fact as soon as the State began allowing it. They employ biologists who claim it risks spreading disease. What are they worried about that the MDWFP is not?

No disrespect, but I believe the ones saying "everyone has been doing it for years" have a guilty conscience. This will absolutely encourage more to participate. I'm opposed to this for too many reasons to type.

At this point - it doesn't matter.

our state, and out wildlife commissioners are all about compromise - all they want to do is make people happy. - and not hunter in particular.

no one even knows how many deer are killed in a season in MS - if they took a guess it wouldn't even be remotely close.

the first step would be good statistics - and MDWFP - DO NOT HAVE THAT.

But hey in the mean time - might as well let you hunt over a feeder........ with a few stupid stipulations so they can still write tickets.

Has anyone heard an attempt at a justification for the 100 yard requirement?

Been hunting over corn in arkansas for the last 3 yrs. my boy has killed 2 nice bucks from that stand. But neither buck came up to the corn and was shot. Both bucks were shot chasing does. I chose the stand placement. Explained to my son why I put the stand where I did. IMO the whole disease theory is BS. The turkeys come eat it, coons , squirrels, hogs and deer. Imp the corn keeps the does in the area thus keeping the shooter bucks in the area. Still hunting is still exactly that. Still hunting waiting and hoping a good deer chases a doe by. The shots he made are tough shots, bout 80 yards with about a 10' opening. He is getting good with the
.243. I am gonna keep on keeping on doing what we are doing

What they didn't mention was that they called 100 licensed hunters and 70 of them were from the coast
