That's a big KEEP for me.
Re: Flag removal?
just out of curiosity, how many of our contributing members currently have a mississippi state flag or any confederate battle flag flying in their front yard?

Re: Flag removal?
Didn't the Great State of Mississippi already have this discussion back in 2001? Juuuuust curious.
Of course, I must admit that flying the Confederate Battle Flag over a State House is wrong. And I would be in favor of removing the battle flag emblem from the Georgia State Flag because it was incorporated there as a protest against the Civil Rights movement in the 1960's.
But H3LL! We've had this same flag since reconstruction! All this talk right now is merely knee jerk reactions to stupid hatred. End the hatred.

Re: Flag removal?
I don't care whether they do away with the flag or not. However, if they do away with it how are we going to pay for it. Think about all the stuff that will need changing. I had a county employee tell me they have run the numbers and it is going to be tens of thounsands just on the county level. Every uniform, stationary, county vehicle, and so forth and so on. Then we get to the state level and the adding machine tape just gets bigger.
So if we do away with the flag I suggest we not have a flag at all. Is the Federal Government and all these other groups hollering for us to change it should pick up the tab. The state spent 3 million for the vote in 2001 and that was 2001 dollars. Are we going to visit this topic every few years and have a vote on it? Is the state going to fork over a whole bunch of money each time we have a vote?

Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote. Benjamin Franklin.
