Bayou Classic Cooler

Postby edub20 » Fri May 22, 2015 11:11 am

So apparently Bayou Classic is testing the water on their own cooler to compete with the K2, Yeti's and such. I had to go by there this morning for a warranty claim on the Cypress Grill and while I was in the warehouse I got to chatting with a guy that was fidgeting with the coolers. They were doing testing to compare their cooler to K2, Yeti and a few others to see how well theirs retained ice and temp against the better brands. I'm pretty sure i heard a bear somewhere so they may or may not also be doing a bear proof test...

Anywho... The reason I went was for a replacement base for my grill due to a hairline crack in the bottom. They swapped me out with no issues however the quality control on those things SUCKS. I looked at several of them and all of the bottom intake vents look like a window licker over in china install them all with the right side gradually climbing to reach about 3-4 inches higher than the left(so it's basically on a large slant). I asked the guy about it and he said every dam one was like that.

Academy sports will also be releasing its own version of the yeti. It has been bear proof tested and should be on shelves in about a month.

I saw Igloo's version at Costco this weekend. Looked exactly like a Yeti and about $100 cheaper.
