Hydroturf boat floor question on glue?

Is there a reason everyone is doing this with contact cement and not a product like liquid nails? Are ya'll just gluing the edges and leaving the mid-sections "floating"? I'm ready to lay it down but concerned over ever having to remove this stuff to replace it....
Thanks,

Regardless of how you put it down, it'll be tough if it ever has to come off. I don't think contact cement is the best option. A lot of guys, including me, use 3M Super 90 or Super 77 spray glue. The 90 is the stickier of the two. But, it comes out sort of stringy. The 77 offers much better distributed coverage. I've never had problems with 77 losing adhesion. Spray, then wait a count of ten before you press it down. It needs the breathe before getting full strength sticky.

The reason you use a spray or a liquid like contact cement is because you have to cover every sq inch of it or it will tear easily. I doubt you can get liquid nails to spread evenly.

I used Weldwood Contact cement on mine. I fubar'd the first sheet I put down and didn't line it up right. I thought I could move it a smidge to adjust it. I was wrong. It was not coming up without tearing it up...which is exactly what I had to do. It came up in about 75 tiny pieces using a putty knife to scrape it off the deck.

A wire wheel on a side grinder is the best way to get it up. Comes off fairly easy that way.
