I took a first timer on Saturday, actually we hunted once before last season. We got on a bird early but, had a creek between us and he never really gave us the time of day. We then looped around him and called them over a crown in some hardwoods about 45 mins later. They came in pretty as you please after some locating with Mr. E's Gator Gobbling Stribling.
I wasn't even going to shoot either of the two that came in, but much to our surprise there was a third gobbler that slipped in to our left silent. He spooked after the initial shot and flew. He landed in the kill zone to pounce on his buddy and I could not resist.
Murder was the Case at 7:00am.
